W. Travis Patterson, the Managing Partner of Patterson Law Group based in Fort Worth, Texas, embodies more than the traditional role of an attorney; he is a passionate community leader dedicated to making a positive impact. His journey into law was driven by a deep desire to help those who have been harmed due to the negligence, distractions, or greed of others, particularly individuals facing exploitation by large corporations and insurance companies. This unwavering commitment has propelled Patterson Law Group to become a highly respected and successful personal injury firm in Texas, firmly rooted in the communities it serves.
Operating across Fort Worth, Arlington and San Antonio, Patterson Law Group spans a broad spectrum of personal injury cases, from automobile and motorcycle accidents to wrongful deaths, pedestrian mishaps, and slip-and-fall incidents. Travis has dedicated the last decade of his career to redefining the personal injury law space by treating clients like family and fighting to make their stories matter, all while challenging the conventional wisdom of how things “should” be done.
A native of Arlington, Texas, Travis pursued his business (2009) and law (2012) degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. He embraced leadership early, presiding over the Texas Cowboys, a student organization comprised of campus leaders from various student entities. While in law school, Travis honed his legal acumen through a clerkship with Honorable Lawrence E. Meyers at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Before Patterson Law Group, Travis gained valuable experience at renowned law firms, including Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller, LLP in Fort Worth and Haynes and Boone, LLP in Dallas. He also served as a visiting prosecutor in the Arlington Municipal Court.
In addition to his role at the firm, Travis serves as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M Law School. He, along with his fellow PLG partner Tennessee Walker, impart their expertise to the next generation of law students by teaching the first-ever personal injury law course for the university. Their curriculum emphasizes practical aspects of lawyering, including marketing and delivering exceptional client service.
As a leader in the legal profession and the business world, Travis has received accolades that reflect his entrepreneurial prowess. He was honored as the 2022 Entrepreneur of Excellence Winner in the professional services category by Fort Worth, Inc. He has also been recognized as a Rising Star by SuperLawyers and a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine and 360West multiple times.
However, Travis’s commitment to giving back goes far beyond recognition. One of his most passionate roles is as a distracted driving speaker. Travis actively partners with the national nonprofit, End Distracted Driving, to educate and inspire students about the life-altering consequences of distracted driving, having reached more than 3,000 high school students across Texas. Travis’s most recent endeavor to further his commitment to community involvement and education comes in the form of a podcast, “Driving Change with Travis Patterson.” In “Driving Change,” Travis brings his signature blend of legal savvy and real-world experience to challenge the status quo in law, life, and everything in between. From practical safety tips for your family to navigating the complexities of modern parenting and entrepreneurship, each episode delivers unfiltered insights and actionable advice through a legal lens.
